Rising Above the Storm: Creating the Future We Want

Sign up for the Indigenous & Workers of Colour Conference 2021, hosted by the Toronto & York Region Labour Council, Saturday, June 12, 2021 9:45 am to 12:40 pm.

This year’s conference will be held virtually over Zoom and will feature a keynote address by Rosemary Power, Executive Director of Toronto Community Benefits Network.

  • Environmental racism – facilitated by Coalition of Black Trade Unionists
  • Migrant worker & the impact of COVID – facilitated by Santiago Escobar or United Food and Commercial Workers
  • Land acknowledgements & reconciliation – facilitated by OPSEU Indigenous Circle
  • Challenging racism & racial trauma: Tools and resources – facilitated by the City of Toronto’s Confronting Anti-Black Racism Unit
  • Mental health in the workplace & accommodations – facilitated by OPSEU
