The Collective Agreement provides you with the information you need about working in a unionized workplace. It should be used as the legally binding document in researching questions related to employee rights and responsibilities.
The last Collective Agreement’s duration was from April 1, 2019 – March 31, 2022. Since the end date of March 31, 2022, OPSEU has been in the process of collective bargaining with the employer for the next Collective Agreement. The 2019-2022 Collective Agreement’s provisions will continue to be in place until a new agreement is bargained.
What is collective bargaining?
Collective bargaining is a process in which a trade union and an employer negotiate a collective agreement.
Collective bargaining begins when the notice to bargain is served and the parties agree on dates to sit down and bargain.
